Homes and businesses in Newton Mearns suffered a short power cut this afternoon.

Electricity supplies to the G77 area stopped shortly before 3pm and were off for around half an hour during the afternoon.

Supplies were expected to be restored by 5pm, SP Networks said after alerting their emergency response teams to the Mearns area..

Power returned to properties just before 3.30pm.
