Power cut in Newton Mearns

Homes and businesses in Newton Mearns have been affected by a power cut this afternoon.

Electricity supplies to the G77 area stopped shortly before 3pm.

SP Networks are aware and say the outage has been caused by a fault in the electrical network.

Supplies are expected to be restored by 5pm.

Those reporting the power cut to the networks emergency line on 0800 092 9290 are told: “Our emergency reponse teams have been alerted.”
