Choral Society

Come and join the vibrant mixed voice adult choir of the Eastwood Choral Society. All voices welcome. No auditions required. The repertoire is largely choral and classical, with concerts twice a year. Bring a mug for break time tea and biscuits! Wine Circle

Stamperland Wine Circle welcomes new members who have an interest in understanding more about wine and the enjoyment associated with it.

Club members enjoy tastings, displays by leading distributors and the matching of different wines to certain kinds of food. There will be demonstrations on how to make wine and an opportunity to chat about to making your own very drinkable varieties. Nearly new and a brew

The 28th Giffnock Scout Group is holding its annual nearly new and book sale on Saturday 3 November from 2-4pm at the Scout Hall, Arthurlie Drive, Giffnock G46 6UP. As well as a tearoom, you will find a large selection of giftware, homeware, games and loads of books.

Fireworks night

Clydesdale will be hosting its famous annual Fireworks Night. Festivities will begin from 4pm which includes face painting and the return of Mr Amazing – the Magician! Hot Food, Mulled Wine and Cider and kids novelties on sale throughout.

Entertainment until late. Adults £8 Kids £4 Under3’s go free

Coffee morning

Mearns Kirk Guild is holding a coffee morning in the Mearns Kirk Hall from 10-12pm. Tickets available at the door £2.50 for adults, £1.00for children, the price includes tea /coffee and home baking. There will be stalls to browse.

Art exhibtion and sale

Linn Painting Group art exhibition and sale from 10-4.30pm at Stamperland Parish Church, at the junction of Clarkston Rd and Stamperland Gdns. Original and unique works of art by our talented artists, ideal gifts for friends and loved ones at Christmas. Entry £2 which includes tea/coffee.

Concert series

Illustrated talk

Illustrated talk by Dr Antonia Laurence-Allen, curator at the National Trust on ‘Why bother with photographs? The Trust’s collection might provide the answers’. The talk takes place at Clarkston Halls starting at 7.30pm. Visitors can attend lectures for £2.
