Heaven and Earth

Govan Old wells up with spirited song and music, from Barber’s heavenly Adagio for Strings and Bill Sweeney’s Gaelic inspired An Og Mhadainn, to gutsy gravitas of Norrie MacIver’s Songs of Govan Old. The Glasgow Barons round off with earthy joy and tears of Dvorak’s Serenade for Strings, conducted by Paul MacAlindin. At Govan Old Parish Church from 7.39-10.30pm.

Join Webster Productions in this charming, kooky and hilarious musical cult classic. ith music by the legendary Alan Menken, best known for his numerous Walt Disney film scores, Little Shop of Horrors is a cult film and one of the longest running off-Broadway shows of all time. At Eastwood Park Theatre at 7.30pm. Also on Saturday.

The Rubenesques

The Rubenesques are a big family of pals who create warm indie folk with soaring vocal harmonies.

Seve & Hilary Smith, Tom Urie, Marshall Waugh, Gerry Millar and Kirsty Orton met in in the indie clubs of Paisley and Glasgow in the late 80s, having all played in various bands including Potato Head, Petal Gems, The Barflies, James McClure, Rich Free Fall, Sheriff Custom, Time Trousers, Wild Children and 3 White Mice. Individually they play, compose and provide session work for acts ranging from Kanye West to Edwin Collins. And joining forces as The Rubenesques, they collectively make the music they want to make with the people they love most – creating memories that they hope you too will cherish. At The Glad Cafe from 7.30pm

The four members of U2 Tribe are committed to capturing an authentic sound and performing with energy and passion in a similar way to the original band. With a repertoire of songs ranging from the early U2 years such as ‘I Will Follow’ to the recent ‘Every Breaking Wave’, U2 Tribe have an ever changing set list. Catch the band at The Shed from 7.30pm.
