Choral Society

Come and join the vibrant mixed voice adult choir of the Eastwood Choral Society . All voices welcome. No auditions required. The repertoire is largely choral and classical, with concerts twice a year. Bring a mug for break time tea and biscuits! Wine Circle

Stamperland Wine Circle welcomes new members who have an interest in understanding more about wine and the enjoyment associated with it.

Club members enjoy tastings, displays by leading distributors and the matching of different wines to certain kinds of food. There will be demonstrations on how to make wine and an opportunity to chat about to making your own very drinkable varieties. Meet santa and sing along with Langside Primary’s Christmas Choir with Santa’s Reindeer. Lots of free activities for the family to get involved with, face painting, glitter tattoos and more. At Granary, Shawlands from 4-6pm.

Ceilidh

The Eriskay Lilt Ceilidh Band are coming to the Eglinton Arms Hotel, Eaglesham this St Andrew’s Day, so get on your dancing shoes and come ‘strip the willow’ from 6.30-midnight.

Karaoke

Join Dino Martino and some of the best singers and entertainers in Barrhead at The Kelburn Bar for Friday night Karaoke from 8-midnight.

Christmas fayre

Come along to Williamwood Parish Church’s Christmas Fayre between 10am-noon. Not only is this a great opportunity to come along and have a chat and a coffee, you can also buy an early Christmas present or two. There will be stalls selling cake and candy, baking, books, bottles of all descriptions, woodcraft, Christmas crafts, preserves and mulled wine, As well as a special “Kids” Stall and Lucky Bag Stall. Don’t forget Santa will also make a special appearance in his Grotto! Ticket price £3 with children under 5 free.

Fundraising fair

The 231st Glasgow Boys Brigade company are hosting their annual Christmas fair from 10am - 1pm at Stamperland Parish Church to raise money for the section. Please come along and enjoy the tea and coffee, biscuits and sweets whilst buying some stocking fillers from the stalls.

You might even be lucky enough to win a Christmas hamper or something nice at the tombola before going to view the model railway or bounce on the bouncy castle.

Winter Wonderland

Barrhead will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland as we begin the countdown to Christmas with the annual Big Barrhead Christmas Lights Switch On. Expect all the usual fun of the day with live music, pony rides, the Santa Express train, a huge firework finale and of course a visit from the man himself in his Grotto – and part of the Big Santa Parade! From noon - 6.30pm.

Art Exhibition

Santa is coming to Whitelee Windfarm Visitor Centre again this Christmas. He will be arriving in style on beautiful Clydesdale horses on at 10.30am. Join Santa at the Winter Wonderland. First there is a craft session where the whole family can join in and make a Christmas decoration for the tree. Then it will be out on the Whitelee bus for Santa’s Windfarm Tour and then back to the Visitor Centre for mince pies and hot chocolate with Santa in the Exhibition. To finish the day off there will be a Christmas Sing-a-Long with Santa and the Boomwhackers. All children will recieve a small present from Santa. Tickets are £10 per person, under 3’s are free of charge.
