Giffnock Theatre Players take on an 80s classic

Giffnock Theatre Players are about ready to present their final play of this their 70th birthday season.

Steel Magnolias, famously filmed in the 1980s with Dolly Parton and Shirley Maclaine, is based on real events and explores the bond which develops among a group of women.

There is much humour in then play, as author Robert Harling set out to show how humour and lighthearted banter can enable folk to cope with difficult situations. As the title suggests the women can be as delicate as flowers and as tough as steel.
