Bad Girls the Musical comes to Eastwood Park Theatre
Bad Girls the Musical opens next month after which the club will be moving to East Kilbride Village Theatre for future productions.
Bad Girls is based on the hit TV series of the same name shown in the early noughties, and is set in the fictional Larkhall women’s prison. The story centres on the struggle of the inmates there against corrupt prison guards.

Hide AdThe plot has several twists and turns and we find an unexpected source of help the prisoners get in fighting the system.
Bad Girls the musical first showcased in West Yorkshire Playhouse in 2006, before a run at the Garrick Theatre in London in 2007.
The show is full of big songs and each character has her own story to tell.
It’s a heady mix of emotion, both sadness and laughter, as the women fight against the evil within the ‘system’.

Hide AdMusical society president Ian McAulay said: “It’s true that there are some real tear jerking moments, but these are evenly balanced with other complete belly laughs.
“We’re sad that we are only performing four shows at Eastwood this time, instead of our usual six, this is due to the rising costs of hiring the theatre, but we are gonna make these shows something to remember!”
The production will run at Eastwood from Thursday, May 17, to Saturday, May 19, at 7.30pm each night, with an matinee on the Saturday at 2.30pm. Thursday evening and Saturday matinee tickets are £15, and Friday and Saturday evenings are £16.
