Whitecraigs Rugby Club earned a fine 34-15 BT National League Division 2 victory at Biggar Rugby Club last Saturday.
In doing so, Whitecraigs gained revenge for losing to the same opposition in a BT Cup tie last month.
An early penalty by visiting scrum half Stuart Gillies put Whitecraigs 3-0 up, which quickly became 10-0 when Kiwi Jason Oloapu’s try was converted by Gillies.
Although Biggar did muster 15 points of their own, Whitecraigs won comfortably thanks to tries by Stuart Pollock, Gordon Berry and Rob Andrews and three more conversions and a penalty by Gillies.
Whitecraigs deserve extra credit for the fact that two of these tries came at a time when Andrews was off the park having received a yellow card. Whitecraigs are at home to Hamilton this Saturday.
