Up for
the cup . . .

POLLOK welcome Beith Juniors to Newlandsfield on Saturday in Emirates Scottish Junior Cup.

The club will go into the tie in a weakened state, following the departure of senior players Jamie Docherty and Peter McMahon.

McMahon has left the club after being unhappy with his lack of game time while Docherty has had to leave Newlandsfield as a result of work commitments.

Pollok boss John Richardson led his side to a hard-fought 1-0 Stagecoach super premier league victory against Glenafton Athletic at Loch Park.

The first half went by goalless and one of the best chances of the game fell to Glenafton’s Glen Mitchell, who almost turned a Mackay cross into his own net after 49 minutes.

The first and only goal of the game was not untill the 87th minute when Hepburn headed to Ryan McArdle, who controlled the ball before hammering a strike into the roof of the net.

Glenafton desperately scrambled for a goal in the dying minutes.

Kick off on Saturday is scheduled for 1.45pm.
