Andy Roberts and Rosa McMillan were the aces at Titwood Tennis Club’s Finals Day, with contrasting outcomes in their encounters.

At the Glencairn Gardens courts in Pollokshields Brown overcame left hander Brodie Knight 6-1, 6-0 while the women’s finale was a far more hotly contested affair, Rosa McMillan losing the first set 4-6 to Wendy Rankine before emerging victorious by winning the second set 6-3 and the third on a tie-break.

Stuart Roberts scored a double by winning the veteran men’s singles and joining Nathan Coley to take the veteran men’s doubles title.

In the boys’ under-18 event Alexander Hendry beat Alex Gajic 6-1, 7-6, and in the girls’ under-18 Claire McKaig overcame Fiona Henderson 6-2, 6-2.

Titwood has all-weather courts, is open all year round and welcomes new members.
