Lumsdens lead Scottish bid at Home Nations

Maia (18) and her younger brother Ewen (16) have both been selected for the 18 years and under group for the competition which will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 10 and 11.

They will be joined by Aidan McHugh, from Bearsden, and Alexandra Hunter, from Edinburgh, in a quartet unchanged from last year.

Both Maia and Aidan competed in the main draw at Junior Wimbledon this year while Ewen has also enjoyed regular international success.

The competition consists of three age group events – 12, 14 and 18 & Under – with each nation represented by two boys and two girls in each age group.

All players compete in singles and doubles with points contributing towards individual age group titles as well as an overall championship title. Scotland will be looking to regain the overall championship last won in Cardiff in 2013. Wales won the 2015 championship ahead of Scotland by the narrowest of margins in Glasgow.

The Scotland team will travel to Cardiff on Friday, September 9, for a practice session ahead of play commencing on Saturday morning.
