Pollok booked their spot in the final of the D&D Programmes Central League Cup on Saturday.
but they were made to fight all the way by Renfrew for a 2-1 win at Newlandsfield Park.
Renfrew’s Matt McLean scored the first goal of the game before the ten minute mark but after a spell of sustained pressure Lok clawed back after 26 minutes.
Hunter’s low cross missed Diack, but Calum Hardie was well placed at the back post to steer home a finish.
Just two minutes later Pollok hit the front when they were awarded a free-kick 25 yards from goal, and Roddy Hunter stepped up to curl a precision strike around the wall, leaving Kevin Bell rooted to the spot.
Pollok had the best of the second half chances with Michael Fulton’s free kick seriously challenging Renfrew goalkeeper Morrison at the start of the half.
Later, Diack and Allan MacKenzie both failed to hit the target with headers before a well-struck Stephen Reid drive was taken by Morrison.
With three minutes left to play Clinton Maxwell found himself in space for Renfrew, but Morrison stayed strong to turn away the danger.
Pollok will now meet either Benburb, Bellshill Athletic or Shotts Bon Accord in the final of the competition.
Monday saw them host St. Anthony’s in the semi-finals of the New Coin Automatics West of Scotland cup where Kevin Bradley netted for Lok in a 3-2 win.
The club they return to league action tomorrow (Friday) against Kilbirnie Ladeside. Kick-off at Newlandsfield Park is at 7.15pm.
