Forth boxer Scott Forrest trying to qualify for Olympic Games

IF everything goes according to plan, a teenager from Forth will be part of Great Britain’s Olympic Games boxing squad in London next summer.

Light heavyweight Scott Forrest (17), has reached the final qualifying stage for British squad selection, and will battle it out with 11 other hopefuls at Sheffield Olympic Training Centre late next month.

The Carluke High School pupil’s dad Jimmy, of Longdales, said: “With the amount of dedication and ability that Scott has, I think he has a 70 per cent chance of qualifying for next year’s Olympics.
