Egelstaff goes for gold in Poland

SUSAN Egelstaff starts the last six weeks of the Olympic qualifying race by tackling the Yonex Polish International in Wroclaw this week.

In today’s first round she will take on Ukraine’s Marija Ulitina who has been promoted from qualifying to replace Greek No. 1 Anne Hald Jensen, who has withdrawn.

If the world No. 38 and third seed from Glasgow reaches the quarter-finals she could face GB rival and fifth seed Elizabeth Cann of England, who is in the same half but faces a tough start against Turkey’s Ozge Bayrak as she tries to climb up the rankings from No. 59.
