ZIPPY’s gymnastics academy left the Allander gymnastics club’s annual competition with an armful of medals on Sunday.
With more than 200 gymnasts from 10 different clubs competing for medals, the Thornliebank group still managed to came out top in most of the age groups.
Francesca Dunn (4), Bobbie O’Brien (5) and Ruth Cowie (5) were awarded gold and silver medals in the under eight beginners age group.
Giffnock’s Anne Dunn , a mum of to two of the gymnasts, said: “It was a great day and all the girls did so well”.
In the under eight intermediate age group, Naomi Chin, Holly Roberts and Taylor Richardson tied for the gold medal award.
Emma Barbour took gold In the 8/9 age group, while Claire Mackenzie achieved the same award in the 10/11 age group.
In the 12+ category, teammate Rachel Gibson won the overall title.
In the closely-fought under 10 level six-team championship, Zippy’s gymnastics Academy won the silver medal with a team of Beth Hannay, Rebecca Fraser, Amy Pavri and Olivia Pickford.
Beth Hannay picked up the overall individual gold medal.
Cara Duncan and Natalie Ferguson also competed and showed a great improvement on their previous competition score in the under 10 competition.
While in the under 12 level six title, Lara Bardelli won the silver medal on both the Vault and Bars apparatus.
