THIS week, we present for your delectation, those thespians that were the Rouken Glen Entertainers.
Entertainment was a very serious requirement during the Great War and these men and women were producing first-rate performances around 1915.
Not for these men the flat cap and sans collar: they were, as were the women, dressed to the nines.
It was these people who you looked to to provide a sing-along and a joke during those depressing times.
The Rouken Glen Entertainers regularly performed at the park from the early 1900s until 1939 — when another war blighted our country.
