TIME is running out for those who wish to participate in Glasgow’s council elections this year.
Polling day is set for May 3 and Glasgow city council is urging anyone not currently registered to do so by April 18.
George Black, the council’s chief executive and returning officer for the election, said: “Now’s the time to make sure you have representation in the council election.
“Make sure you are registered to vote, especially if you have changed your name or moved house this year.
“If you are not registered to vote by April 18 you will not be eligible to vote on May 3 and if you want to vote by post or proxy, rather than by going to the polling station, then this is the time to sort that out too.
“Residents can print off the relevant form from www.glasgow.gov.uk/elections, or call 0141 287 4444.
“It just takes a few minutes, but you need to act now.
“We don’t want anyone to miss their chance to have a say in how Glasgow is run”.
