A weather warning for heavy rain – with the potential to lead to flooding and travel disruption – has been issued for this weekend covering much of the country, including Glasgow and East Renfrewshire.
The yellow – ‘be aware’ – warning issued by the Met Office is for the period from 9am on Saturday through to 3pm on Sunday.
Drivers are being warned to expect difficult conditions on the roads, and the Met Office says there is also a small chance of flood damage to some buildings.
Locally, the heaviest rain is currently forecast to be on Saturday evening, beginning to ease by early Sunday morning. However, rain is forecast for almost the entire of the weekend.
Temperatures in the Glasgow area are expected to reach around 18C on Saturday, and 22C on Sunday.
