Chief executive Walter Hecht is retiring after nine fantastic years at Cosgrove.

Kate Mackie, operations manager, who has worked with Walter for many years, said:

“Walter’s contribution has been crucial in leading Cosgrove to achieve excellent outcomes. As CEO Walter has always had the people we support at the heart of all his decision-making. His cheeky smile and great sense of humour will be missed by everyone at Cosgrove.”

Cosgrove is a charity that specialises in providing personalised support and care services for children and adults who have learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders, and mental health problems, living in and around Glasgow and East Renfrewshire.

Walter commented: “I found my years with Cosgrove an enriching experience. As I retire, it saddens me that this sector, that has such a positive impact on the people we support and their families, is going through such a tough time as it adjusts to funding cuts and increasing costs.

“I hope support is on the way to protect organisations like Cosgrove.”
