AN M77 sliproad has been widened to ease traffic congestion to Silverburn shopping centre.

Work on the northbound sliproad by Amey – on behalf of Traffic Scotland – has now been completed, with an extra lane added in the hope of reducing traffic jams.

The road had previously suffered tailbacks during busy periods, sometimes onto the motorway, and an estimated 3,000 cars use it daily to access the centre or local routes.

The project cost £265,000 and was funded by Silverburn shopping centre.
