PLANS for Glasgow’s Fastlink bus system have been pushed back, missing the deadline for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The hi-tech link, which would allow new design buses their own roadways along the Clyde and towards the new Southern General hospital, was originally expected to be complete in time for the sporting event.
Now, Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) and Glasgow city council have said that they are working towards completion for the £40 million project by 2015.
Some of the segregated roads will be ready for use by 2014, but that this will not include the Fastlink buses
Once completed, it will cross to the southside at the Clyde Arc bridge, and travel along the south bank of the river to the new hospital, scheduled to open in 2015.
