A woman has died after she was hit by two cars in succession on the south side’s Nithsdale Road on Friday evening.

The 44-year-old tragically died while being taken to the Queen Elizabeth Unversity Hospital, while the drivers were uninjured but badly shaken.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident, which happened at around 6.15pm on Friday as the woman was crossing Nithsdale Road near its junction with Dargarvel Avenue.

They particularly want to speak to two people who tried to lend assistance immediately after the incident.

The victim was struck first by a grey Volkswagen Touran, followed by a white Volkswagen Golf.

The road was closed for several hours to allow collision investigation and local enquiries to be carried out.

Sergeant Nicola Taylor, from the Division Road Policing Unit based at Govan, said today: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area and who witnessed the crash to contact Police with any information they have.

“We understand that two people initially stopped to provide assistance following the incident. We would ask those two individuals who are yet to come forward to do so now.”

Road Policing Officers in Glasgow are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who has any information regarding the incident to contact them at the Road Policing Complex at Govan via 101.
