Road closure planned in Newton Mearns

A section of Mearns Road in Newton Mearns is scheduled to be closed for up to two weeks.

Mearns Road, between its junctions with Broomvale Drive and Broom Road East, will be closed from Monday, July 29, until Friday, August 9, or on the completion of the work if sooner.

The road is being closed to allow for essential carriageway resurfacing work to be carried out.

Vehicular access to properties within the closure area may be permitted by the contractor when it is safe to do so. Access will be maintained for emergency services vehicles attending at incident.

Alternative routes are via Broom Road East, Waterfoot Road and Mearns Road; and Broomvale Drive, Ayr Road, Sandringham Avenue, Broom Road and Mearns Road.
