Dr Montomgery commented: “I am incredibly proud to have been selected.

“This is an election with a clear choice between a Conservative government who will continue to build a stronger economy and a Labour party who have run out of ideas.

“I look forward to talking to as many voters as possible and if you have any further questions then please contact me at [email protected], @drdavidmonty and facebook.com/DavidmontgomeryforEastRenfrewshire.”

Scottish Conservative deputy leader and East Ren man Jackson Carlaw added: “The people of East Ren are being offered a candidate of the highest calibre — I welcome the opportunity of campaigning with him.”
