East Renfrewshire politicians Jim Murphy MP and Ken Macintosh MSP joined the team at Tesco in Clarkston recently to raise awareness about the shop’s partnership with charity Fareshare.
Tesco Clarkston have teamed up with the charity, which collects unwanted, useable food for distribution to those who need it most in local communities.
Ken Macintosh said: “The response from the local community has been fantastic and it is heart warming to see so many donating to those most in need. Well done to Tesco in Clarkston for taking part in this excellent scheme. The recent findings which showed 10% of children in East Renfrewshire are below the poverty line show how important it is that we maintain charity, even at Christmas.”
