Teen stabbed near chip shop in Shawlands

A school pupil is believed to have been stabbed multiple times with a knife near a chip shop in the Southside of Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Kilmarnock Road in Shawlands at about 1.30pm this afternoon (Monday).

Police have confirmed that a teenage boy had been taken to hospital to receive treatment for a knife injury. It his understood he was stabbed in the stomach, knees and also suffered a head injury. His condition is not known. No-one else was hurt.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “At about 1.30pm this afternoon, police were called to a disturbance on Kilmarnock Road near Shawlands Academy after a report of a teenage boybeing stabbed. he has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Univeristy Hospital. A 15-year-old male has been arrested.”
