Barrhead residents are invited to share their views on a new Asda supermarket proposed for the town.
The plan was showcased at a community engagement event on Saturday (July 28) and will be again later in August, allowing residents the chance to see the site layout and artists’ impressions, and give feedback to representatives of the supermarket chain.
If approved, the supermarket could go on to create around 200 full and part-time jobs in the area, with approximately 200 more created through the store’s construction.
Asda has also promised to invest around £20 million in the East Renfrewshire economy, should the supermarket come to fruition.
Lisa Rooke, Asda’s property communications officer for Scotland, said: “We are delighted to be holding these two community engagement events, allowing the public the opportunity to view our proposals for the store and give us their feedback.
“We hope that as many local people as possible are able to join us at these events and we very much look forward to seeing them there”.
The next opportunity to view the Asda Barrhead proposals will be on August 25, 11am-4pm in Barrhead sports centre.
Further information and the chance to provide feedback is available at the Asda Barrhead website.
