A local aspiring actor has been signed by a top UK agency after impressing industry professionals with his performance at Glasgow Clyde College’s end-of-year Diploma Show.
Euan Shedden, from Clarkston, took to the stage at the college’s Langside Campus and, after performing two duologues with classmates, was approached by Coulter Management Agency, one of Scotland’s leading talent agencies.
Euan, who is set to graduate this summer with an HND Acting and Performance qualification from the renowned course at Glasgow Clyde College, is now aiming to sample just a taste of the success enjoyed by his acting idol Sir Ian McKellen.
He said: “The Dip Show was a really good experience. It feels like, after three years in college, that was the culmination of everything.
“I was on holiday in Barcelona when I got the email from Coulter Management Agency. I was very happy but then a little nervous at the prospect of an interview. But, when I went to meet them, they offered me representation.
“Being signed will hopefully help a lot, but it could mean nothing in the end.”
Euan, 20, is a former pupil of Carolside Primary School and Williamwood High School. He will round off his time at Glasgow Clyde College by playing a part in a performance of Festen at Langside Campus Theatre from Tuesday 14 – Friday 17 June as part of the college’s Festival of Creativity.
