MERRYLEE woman Helen Waldman was greeted with a pleasant surprise at Silverburn shopping centre this week.
The southsider was the centre’s 10,000th mobility shopper, and general manager David Pierotti rewarded her with a bouquet of flowers and £100 gift card for the honour.
Helen has been going to the shopping centre since it opened, and she commented: “I was absolutely delighted to be chosen as the 10,000th mobility customer as I use the service at least once a week and I’m a big fan.
“All the staff are more than helpful and very friendly – I would be lost without the service as it gives me independence and enables me to get around on my own”.
Manager David added: “We realise how vital a mobility service can be for someone like Helen. It’s astounding that we have already reached the 10,000th mark”.
Silverburn’s Shopmobility service was launched in 2007, and provides customers will limited mobility access to electric scooters, power wheelchairs, pushchairs and children’s wheelchairs.
The service can be found on the ground floor of the multi-story car park, and more information is available at the Silverburn website.
