SHAWLANDS is in the running for a nationwide prize recognising the best places in Scotland to live, work and play.
Civic Pride is a new category in the Scottish Design awards, taking place tomorrow (Friday) at the Radisson hotel in the city centre.
The southside location — which last week, Extra readers polled said was a safe and sound place to live — is shortlisted for best neighbourhood alongside the Gorbals, Govan, Kelvinside and Partick in Glasgow and Leith and Morningside in Edinburgh.
The winner is decided by a public vote, and you can cast yours by heading to the Scottish Design Awards website.
The awards are sponsored by KILTR, a social network aimed at Scotland and everyone with an interest in Scotland around the globe.
