Police are searching for a 15-year-old from Clarkston who has gone missing.

Niamh Cockton was last seen at around 11.00pm yesterday evening at her home in Williamwood Drive.

The St Ninian’s pupil is slim, around 5’4”, with a slim build and light brown hair with distinctive blue streaks.

According to police, she is likely to be wearing dark skinny jeans, a black T-shirt with a mermaid on the front, a blue hooded top and green converse shoes.

Inspector Alan Dickson told The Extra: “We have been carrying out extensive enquiries, speaking to family and friends in an effort to locate her.

“However, all attempts to find her have so far proved unsuccessful.

“We are becoming increasingly concerned for Niamh’s welfare and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard from her or who has any knowledge as to her whereabouts to contact us.”

Police have deployed dogs, officers on the ground and a helicopter. “We are treating this really seriously. This appears to be very out of character. “

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
