ScotRail’s five year partnership with Children’s Hospice Association Scotland has helped the charity raise over £48,000.
The link-up began in 2010 following a survey which saw ScotRail staff vote CHAS as the company’s charity partner.
Since then, the team has organised and taken part in a variety of fundraising events from bucket shakes in stations to their glitzy annual ‘Your Recognition Ball’. They also hosted and participated in a Zumbathon in Queen Street station in front of hundreds of customers to help raise awareness and collect donations for CHAS during Children’s Hospice Week.
Criona Knight, Corporate Fundraiser at CHAS, said: “The ScotRail partnership has been an absolute pleasure to work on and the level of commitment shown by teams across Scotland has been amazing. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know everyone and cannot thank the team enough for their support and ongoing enthusiasm.
“The total raised to date is £48,904 and we are so appreciative of everything they have done to help support the families that use CHAS services. I am sorry to see the end of the partnership but hope we will be able to work together again in the near future.”
The ScotRail team also spent time at the charities hospices helping staff and volunteers and planted the rose garden that is now a place for rest and relaxation for the families that use Robin House.
Fiona McFarlane from ScotRail said: “Over the last six years, people across our business have truly embraced our partnership with CHAS. It has been a real privilege to work with, support and ultimately raise money for this fantastic Scottish charity and we wish them every success for the future.”
