Ruby hits the road for animal charity - can you offer any support?
The Give a Dog a Bone charity supports the over 60s to afford a rescue pet companion - tackling loneliness for the individual and homelessness for the animal.
Set up in November 2013, the charity has helped more than 200 animals and their older human companions to have a happier life, together.

Hide AdRuby fell in love with the idea of the charity when she saw it featured in Waitrose, Newton Mearn’s community scheme - she said: “I really liked the idea because the charity helps older people to have a dog - so the dog is happy, and so is the person.”
Ruby is a little bit apprehensive about Sunday’s cycle, but, with Dad by her side, we know she can do it!
So far, Ruby has raised a whopping £717.74 which is way in excess of her original plan to raise £100 for the charity.
“I think it’s a nice amount and I want to say thank you to everyone who has donated” said Ruby.
There’s still time for you to make a donation, and everything will help. You can donate at Ruby’s JustGiving page which can be found at: Ruby’s fundraiser
