It surely must be that time of the year again when people flock to East Ren’s must-see event — the beautiful, breath-taking Electric Glen!
And tickets to the event have now gone on sale, so hurry to avoid disappointment.
The 2016 event will see new team of creatives work their magic and transport visitors to a luminous world of magic set within the boundaries of Rouken Glen Park in Giffnock.
Renowned creative director Phil Supple designed the lighting for the poppy installation at the Tower of London.
Phil enthused: “I’m looking forward to bringing light and life to the dark winter months in one of the West of Scotland’s most beautiful parks.
“Rouken Glen has been given a makeover in recent months courtesy of the Heritage Lottery Fund Parks staff and we’re aiming to show it off in the best possible light in February.
“We’ll be building on the success of our original programme in 2013 and returning to light up the whole perimeter of the famous boating pond in technicolour.
“I’m exploring research into the historical design output of the Thornliebank Printworks and am working with some great digital artists to [produce an animated projection work next to the Auldhouse Burn, shedding light on some of the 200 year old commercial patterns alongside contemporary Scottish designs in fantastic artwork.”
Electric Glen will take place in February. Previous events have proved popular.
