ROADWORKS continue at the Clyde Tunnel this week, and motorists are still advised to take alternative route
Maintenance work is taking place throughout the summer, and at present the northbound carriageway is closed between the Moss Road on slip and the off slip to Clydebank and city centre.
The tunnel has been reduced to a single lane running in both directions, and although diversions are in place, drivers are reminded that the route is particularly busy during peak times.
Meanwhile, motorists travelling near Queen’s park should also be aware of a lane closure northbound on Aikenhead Road, between Curtis Avenue and Prospecthill Road.
The work is ongoing until Friday (July 13) to allow work on a sewer connection, and traffic is reduced to one lane in either direction throughout.
Prospecthill Road is also closed daily between 9am and 4.30pm, in order to carry out resurfacing. Diversions are in place via Cathcart Road and Aikenhead Road for northbound traffic, and Cathcart Road, Carmunnock Road and King’s Park Avenue for southbound traffic.
Over in East Renfrewshire, work continues on Woodfarm Road in Thornliebank – closed between Inglestone Avenue and Balgownie Crescent until Friday (July 13).
An alternative route is signposted.
Resufacing is also taking place at Rouken Glen Road in Giffnock, and East Ren council asks drivers to be patient of delays during peak times until the work – between Eastwood Toll and a Davieland Road – is completed on Sunday, July 15.
More information on road closures and works is available from the council’s roads services, on 577 3417 or at email@example.com.
