ENVIRONMENTAL officers at East Renfrewshire council have issued a warning about a brand of chicken pakora which is believed to have been handled in an unapproved establishment.
The product is Good Foods chicken pakora – all dates and batch codes – which comes packaged in a clear takeaway-style plastic container.
The pakora appears to have been distributed to newsagents and independent convenience stores, and Glasgow city council has already issued a recall of the product.
Although a list of places stocking it has been obtained, health officers believe that the product may have been supplied to additional premises across Scotland, and John Davidson, ERC’s principal environmental health officer, said: “I would advise anyone who has bought this product not to consume it”.
The council confirmed that other Good Foods products are not affected by the product recall.
