The winners have been revealed in our photography competition with McCarthy and Stone.
Amateur photographers were asked to capture the essence of Pollokshields by entering images that showcase local features and attractions that are quintessentially or iconically Pollokshields.
The judges were really impressed by the standard of the entries that were received, and are delighted to confirm the winners are:
Lesley Woods for her image of ‘a house on Dalziel Drive in Pollokshields’; Caroline Chinn for her image of ‘a wee person enjoying Pollok House Gardens’, and finally Emma Cunningham for a captivating image of Maxwell Park.
The lucky winners will receive a £150 worth of vouchers from a trio of local Pollokshields businesses which will include a £50 Ollie’s restaurant voucher, a £50 Marie Brown at Home voucher, and a £50 Moyra Jayne’s Brasserie voucher.
Each of the three winning photographs will also be displayed in McCarthy & Stone’s local Pollokshields development Merchants Gate for future homeowners to enjoy.
Lorraine Paterson, regional sales and marketing director at McCarthy and Stone in Scotland, said: “This competition was an opportunity to see Pollokshields through the eyes of those who know it best – its local residents – and we hope that people enjoyed sharing their pictures with us.
“It was incredibly difficult to choose just three images to feature at the development, but I hope everyone agrees they’re super and really capture the essence of Pollokshields.”
Currently under construction, the apartments at Merchants Gate are due to be released in early 2019, with first homeowners expected to be welcomed in the summer of 2019.
