A local Pollokshaws based animal charity was delighted to learn last week that they had received a donation of more than £2,000.
Animal Support and Rescue is celebrating after learning they would receive an amazing £2,095 from Support Adoption For Pets’ Annual Summer Fundraising Drive.
For four weeks during the summer, members of the local community donated to help homeless pets in need through the charity’s Summer Fundraising Drive, which was held at the Pets at Home stores in Abbotsinch and Linwood.
Their impressive efforts helped the national charity’s fundraising drive reach the huge sum of over £460,000 for the campaign.
The money will be used to support the care and treatment of rescue dogs, cats and other pets as they look for a new home.
Animal Support and Rescue was overwhelmed with the support from the community for the Support Adoption For Pets initiative.
Amy Wilson, Charity Manager from Support Adoption For Pets said: “Animal Support and Rescue is doing a fantastic job, and the effort the rescue puts in is an inspiration. We are honoured to help raise money for this organisation that works so hard to re-home pets in and around Glasgow. The money raised will really help to support the care and treatment of rescue animals as they look for a forever home.”
Karen Crawford from Animal Support and Rescue told The Extra: “Receiving this money has been a real boost to us at the centre. It’s helped to support our ongoing animal rescue work as well as paying for some vital medical bills for a number of horses which have recently been brought into the centre.”
