I wanted to get an image of the Eiffel Tower at night.
My aim was to get in position at dusk and so get a picture during the “blue hour” when there is still some colour in the sky and it is not just black.
I also wanted to try and capture the sweeping search light which shines from the top of the tower.
This image was taken from the top of the Montparnasse Tower — like many locations they ban tripods, so I had to press the camera against the supports which hold up the glazed wall.
Taken with my Sony Alpha 100. 1/2second @f/3.5 ISO 400, 18 mm.
