I, along with the Photography club, attended the annual air show at Luechars in September 2012.
One of the Red Arrows routines involved two aircraft flying toward you at high speed and then cutting in front of each other giving the impressions of a collision.
Lighting was very tricky and I had to increase the exposure by two stops to compensate for the light background. Freezing the aircraft was essential and I had to increase the speed to 1/1000 of a second with an aperture of F7 on my Canon D60.
I was using a 70-200 lens with an extender to bring the action closer.
Sadly 2013 was the last show at Leuchars and we shall miss this spectacular annual event.
