Woman named following Aikenhead Road collision

Police in Glasgow can confirm that the woman who died following a road traffic collision in the Southside of the city was Agnes King from Glasgow.

The incident happened around 5pm on Thursday, 31 October, 2019 on Aikenhead Road, near Cathcart Road, when a red Mazda car collided with a pedestrian.

Agnes, aged 95, sadly died at the scene where the road remained closed for four hours.

Sergeant Jon Mochan, National Road Policing Uni, said: “We are extremely saddened to report that Agnes has sadly passed away following the collision.

“I would like to send my personal condolences to Agnes’ family and friends and my gratitude to the members of the public and emergency services who tried to help Agnes at the scene.

“Our enquiries into this collision continue and I would urge anyone with any dashcam footage, or any information which may be relevant, to please contact us.”
