Man suffers serious head injury following assault in Govan

Detectives in Glasgow are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in the Govan area.

The incident happened between 6.00pm and 7.00pm on Wednesday, 13 November on Summertown Road in Govan.

The 45-year-old man suffered a serious head injury during the incident that required hospital treatment.

Officers are eager to trace two men who were seen in the area at the time of the incident and may be able to help with the ongoing enquiries.

Both men are aged between 18-23 with local accents. The first man was wearing a burgundy top and light coloured trousers. The second man was of heavy build and wearing a light blue top.

Detective Constable Paul Hendry, of Govan CID, said: “I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed this incident.

“This was a totally unprovoked attack on a member of the public who has since received medical treatment to a nasty head injury.

“I would ask anyone who has saw any suspicious behaviour in the Summertown Road area of Govan on the night of Wednesday, 13 November, 2019, or who knows who is responsible, to contact police as soon as possible.”
