The Manorview Hotels & Leisure Group’s Developments team have climbed a mountain for a children’s charity.

Manorview Developments Ltd, part of the Manorview Hotels & Leisure Group, organised the climb and gathered a group of 20 for the challenge.

Joining them on the day were some Manorview employees from head office in Howwood, Renfrewshire, as well as from venues – Boclair House in Bearsden and the Bowfield Hotel in Howwood.

The team were also joined by Glasgow-based IT management company, Red Mosquito – who had Neil Rowney, Derek Smith and Andy Stark taking part in the climb.

Together the group raised a total of £3,228.75 which was donated to children’s charity, When You Wish Upon a Star.

The charity helps to bring smiles to children aged 4-17 years who live with a life-threatening illness by giving them memories to treasure.

The Group’s Busby Hotel already has a strong relationship with the charity, and the team at the venue regularly fundraise and hold specially themed afternoon teas for the wish children and their families.

The Group’s Procurement Manager, Steve Buckley organised the Ben Nevis climb, and he has previously fundraised for the charity by running last year’s London Marathon and by arranging a ‘cycle-thon’ at the Busby Hotel.

Anthony Cowley, property development director of Manorview Group said: “The Manorview Group already has a strong relationship with When You Wish Upon a Star, and we know the amazing work they do to create special memories for children and their families. We’re delighted to be able to support them.”

Judith King, from the Wish Upon a Star charity in Scotland, said, “We would like to thank Manorview and their Developments team for arranging this challenge, for continuing to support us and for helping us to keep bringing smiles to the faces of children and families. We also want to thank Red Mosquito for also joining in and for their fundraising efforts. It’s really very much appreciated”.

The Manorview Hotel Group portfolio consists of eight venues, two pubs, two nightclubs and a luxury spa, all located throughout the central belt of Scotland. The development arm of the group is responsible for the maintenance of all properties as well as any refurbishments and redevelopments. The Manorview Group has an ethos of giving something back to charity and to local communities, this involves the teams at every venue fundraising, raising awareness and donating their time.
