East Renfrewshire TSB branches to close in 2020

Earlier this week, the bank announced there would be closures as part of a plan by new chief executive Debbie Crosbie to make £100m of cost cuts by 2022.

The Barrhead branch in Arthurlie Street will close on April 29, 2020 followed by the Busby Road, Clarkston branch on July, 22, 2020.

A statement on the closures read: “TSB will work with Partners at risk of redundancy as a direct result of these closures and will to try to find them alternative roles within the business.“

In the last two years TSB has seen a 17 per cent decrease in the number of overall transactions in itsbranches.

A total of 2.5 million of its customers now choose to bank online, with over 1 million accessing their account on the mobile app.
