Eastwood Park Theatre has waved its magic wand to offer one lucky local class the best seats in the house during a matinee performance of this year’s pantomime, Cinderella, plus a tailored panto package from GAMTA.

The winning class will meet Cinders and the cast, take part in a choreography workshop, as well as a backstage tour of the Giffnock theatre, with insight into the whole panto production.

Pupils, parents, relatives, teachers, friends and schools alike should nominate their chosen class and school on East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure’s Facebook Page before the stroke of midnight on Saturday, September 21 to be in with a chance of winning the prize.

Anthony McReavy from East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure said: “We want to give one lucky class the chance to get a real insight into theatrical productions, from choreography and costumes to set design and backstage preparations, as well as having the chance to chat to the cast.

“The class will also be our guests of honour at an all singing, all dancing panto performance from our Cinderella cast and might even get their own shout out during the show!”

The more entries a class/school has, the better their chance of winning as all mentions will be placed into a glass slipper for selection.

GAMTA principal Shaaron Graham added: “We can’t wait to sprinkle some GAMTA magic during our panto performances at Eastwood Park Theatre.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming our lucky competition winners to Eastwood Park Theatre to show them the work that goes into making our pantos and the fun we have along the way. They’ll also be able to get a Selfie with Cinders and maybe even the Ugly Sisters!”

Any classes who have already booked to attend a performance of Cinderella can still enter the competition and parents can nominate different classes, so all siblings will be in with an equal chance - no Ugly Sisters stealing the show permitted!

Cinderella will run at Eastwood Park Theatre from Wed 11- Mon 30 December, with various dates and times available.
