D-Day Landings service in Newton Mearns
On the beaches of Normandy, France, was the beginning of the end of the second world war in Europe.
To mark the occasion, Newton Mearns Branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland will be on parade at Mearns Cross Cenotaph (G77 6AE) on Thursday, June 6 for a short service commencing at noon.
Anyone within East Renfrewshire with an interest of this historic day can meet the Legion veterans on parade at the cenotaph.
