Emergency services were called to tackle a blaze within a building in Albert Drive in Pollokshields at around 11.30pm last night (Sunday).

A total of nine fire appliances and two height appliances attended the scene.

It is thought to have started in the ground floor minimarket and greengrocer Strawberry Garden before affecting a number of flats above.

Residents were evacuated from their homes, which sit above the takeaway, and one man has been taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
