£200K fund for Glasgow community groups open for applications

Community groups in Pollokshields, Shawlands, Craigton and Dumbreck have until September 26 to apply for a share of £200k for work to benefit the local community.

The money will be shared out through a public vote later this year, where residents of Glasgow’s Ward 6 will decide which projects they want to fund.

Ward 6 is one of four areas receiving £200,000 of funding for local community budgeting work, funded by Glasgow City Council. The funding is being distributed through Ward 6 Community Choices.

Ward 6 Community Choices is a £200,000 project which will make funding available for activities, events and more in Pollokshields, Shawlands & Strathbungo, Craigton, Dumbreck and some neighbouring areas in 2019.

Community members get to decide how the funding should be awarded. The aim is to make public spending fairer and more in line with what communities feel they need.

Organisations can apply using the application pack available online at the Ward 6 Community Choices website.

information sessions for those interested in applying across the Ward are taking place, providing an opportunity to discuss and ask questions. These sessions are optional - you don’t need to attend in order to apply.
