For those residents living on the southside, and who may have to contact East Renfrewshire Council, technology means you can now ‘chat’ online.
The authority’s new Live Chat service, which became operational this month, means that East ren are one of very few councils across Scotland with this service.
The move is part of the Council’s ambitions to provide online customers with a fast, responsive service through the Council’s increasingly sophisticated website.
Assistance is provided in real time to help customers complete their enquiries online.
Live Chat, piloted in January and February to overwhelmingly positive feedback, has dealt with more than 1,100 enquiries since its launch.
The service is delivered by highly trained Customer Service Officers who are on hand to help customers with enquires ranging from Council Tax and benefits entitlement queries to school placing requests and sports questions.
East Renfrewshire residents and businesses can access Live Chat via the highly visible link at the top of every page on the Council’s website www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk. The service is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, except on public holidays.
Residents and businesses can still call the Council’s customer services helpline 0141 577 3001, or drop in to service centres in Giffnock, or Barrhead from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
