Register now to take part in this year’s 5k Glasgow Santa Dash, starting and finishing in George Square this Sunday, December 7, and raise money for charity.
One of the beneficiaries of proceeds from the Dash is the southside’s Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.
The annual run is a popular event attracting thousands of runners of all abilities and ages and, so far this year, almost 4,500 have already signed up to take part.
The school with the most participants entered will win a pair of tickets to The X Factor Tour.
There are also spot prizes to be won on the day, incuding five £20 vouchers for Buchanan Galleries, 10 boxes of Lees Snowballs, 20 Irn Bru goody bags, 10 £5 Decathlon vouchers; one £10 Farmfoods voucher and 20 Shearer Candles vouchers.
Passengers dressed in a full Santa outfit will also travel free of charge on First Glasgow services on Sunday.
Friends and family accompanying race participants or passengers dressed as Santa will also get to travel for £1.20 irrespective of the distance travelled.
Registration fee for over 16s is £15, and children £5. This includes a Santa suit and commemorative medal for finishers.
Councillor Alistair Watson, who will be starting the race, said: “This year’s Santa Dash will be the biggest yet with a record number of people taking part. Where else do you get the chance to see thousands of folk taking to the streets in a Santa outfit?
“The people of Glasgow really know how to show their support for good ‘clauses’.
